Meet Marie
Over more than a decade in law, my career has taken me through different roles and industries, from litigation to media, entertainment and an in-house legal career. Along the way, I learned how powerful it can be to have people in your corner: people who understand where you’ve been, encourage where you’re going and help you see possibilities you might not see on your own.
Becoming a mother made that kind of community feel even more important.
I created Mothers In Law because I wanted a space where lawyer-mothers could connect without pretending that work is effortless, motherhood is simple or balance is something we should have perfected.
This is the community I was looking for. I hope it can become yours too.
Why Mothers In Law Exists
A legal career can be demanding. Motherhood can be all-consuming. Living both at once brings a particular mix of ambition, responsibility, joy, pressure and constant negotiation.
It can also feel surprisingly isolating.
Mothers In Law was created to make it easier for lawyer-mothers to find one another and have the conversations that don’t always fit neatly into the workplace or the usual parenting spaces.
Here, you don’t have to explain the juggle. You’re already among women who understand it.
